John Manning

John is one of Nanaimo’s most respected and experienced lawyers, with a practice focused on real estate, business law, and wills and estates.

In his real estate and commercial work, John acts for buyers, sellers, lenders, developers, and business owners on transactions, financing, corporate structuring, and development projects, including strata and subdivision work.

In his wills and estates practice, he advises individuals and families on estate planning, trusts, powers of attorney, and succession planning, helping ensure both personal and business affairs are protected for the long term. He is also a long-time contributor to the BC Probate Practice Manual.
John has been practicing law in Nanaimo since 1992 and has advised businesses at every stage, from incorporation through growth, reorganization, and succession.

Beyond his professional work, John is deeply involved in our community. He is currently President of the Nanaimo & District Museum, serves on the Community Archives Board, the Vancouver Island Symphony Society Board, and is a past President of NEA. He has also supported organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club and minor sports for many years.
